Barbara is a Connecticut painter recognized for luminous plein-air landscapes and grounded studio work. She’s an elected artist of the Copley Society and the Lyme, Rockport, and Hudson Valley Art Associations, as well as a signature member of New England Plein Air Painters. Her paintings have been shown in museum invitational exhibitions and were selected by the U.S. Department of State for display at the American Embassy in Taipei. Barbara has curated the Lyme Art Association’s New England Landscape Invitational, served as a membership and exhibition juror, and taught plein-air painting privately and through regional art centers. A former president of the Lyme Art Association’s Board of Directors, she brings both craft and stewardship to New England’s landscape tradition.

"My intellectual and painterly life are united in a passion for nature.  I am a philosophically direct descendant of the Old Lyme and Hudson River School painters, and I approach subjects in a way that embraces these traditions—honoring nature, seeking the paradise in nature and working from direct observation. My landscape paintings are often about fleeting moments.   I seek moments that occur when light causes a heart to beat faster.  This is the place I strive to be in and hope to bring to my canvas.  The landscape represents an emotional element, and my paintings are symbols of that emotion."
